A confession—I don’t really consider myself an author.
I think of myself more as a person who just loves using words. Some examples:
- Working as an advertising copywriter
- Creating lyrics and pairing them to music
- Founding a verbal strategy consulting firm
- Writing children’s books
I’ve loved words since the day I began learning them. Just filling out a few paragraphs on this site is a simple pleasure. Here are a few more words about me:
Chicago is home, but I prefer California’s longer golf season. I’m a current SCBWI member, a previous winner of the Writing With the Stars picture book competition, and a mentee of Alastair Heim.
I’m also the proud father of two young boys. They are learning (and using) their own words at an alarming pace. Our whole family loves haunting Chicago’s local bookstores (see 0:37 and 0:56):
